Formal recruitment is a structured week-long process. You visit every chapter house over the first 1–2 days — each round you attend fewer houses until Preference Night, where you visit your top 2. Bid Day is the final day when you receive your invitation to join.

Not at all! Formal recruitment is designed for women with zero connections. Chapters evaluate you based on who you are during conversations, not who you know. Be genuine and let your personality shine.

Most Panhellenic councils require a minimum GPA (typically 2.5) to participate in formal recruitment, and most competitive chapters prefer 3.0+. Check your school's Panhellenic and each chapter's individual requirements.

Dress codes typically escalate each round: Open House = casual/sundress, Philanthropy/Sisterhood = business casual, Preference Night = semi-formal. Each PNM receives detailed guidelines before recruitment begins. Comfort + confidence is key.

IFC rush is more informal than sorority recruitment. Chapters host their own events — house tours, sports, cookouts, game nights — over the first few weeks of the semester. You show up, meet brothers, and if there's mutual interest, you'll receive a bid. No formal schedule or quotas like sorority recruitment.

Rush events are casual and conversational. Brothers want to see who you genuinely are. Show up on time, introduce yourself, ask questions about the chapter's values and brotherhood. Talk to multiple brothers — not just one. The more events you attend, the stronger your chances.

Be present and engaged — put your phone away. Ask thoughtful questions about brotherhood, philanthropy, and what the chapter does outside of social events. Show genuine interest in the chapter's values, not just the parties. Consistency matters: attend multiple events at each chapter you're considering.
