What is Recru, exactly?
What is Recru?
An app and website that helps students prepare for sorority or fraternity recruitment: a chapter directory, step-by-step progress tracking, note-taking, and a community of other students going through it with you, all in one place.
What is recruitment?
The process schools use to match students with sororities (Panhellenic recruitment) or fraternities (IFC recruitment, often called "rush"). You meet chapters over a series of rounds and, ideally, end up with a bid, an invitation to join.
Why use Recru instead of just winging it?
Recruitment is fast, the schedule changes, and it's easy to forget which chapter said what by day three. Recru keeps everything, your schedule, your notes, your questions, in one place instead of scattered across screenshots, texts, and memory.

Why we built this
Made by students who've been through rush, for students going through it now

Hi, im Mia and I'm a senior IT student at UCF, currently serving as VP of Recruitment for my schools Panhellenic Council. I went through formal recruitment myself, and later got to be a Rho Gamma, the recruitment counselor who guides Potenital New Members through the whole week. I loved my Rho Gamma I wanted every PNM to have that same person looking out for them, even outside the few weeks a Rho Gamma can. Recru is my attempt at building something useful. By someone who's actually seen all sides of the process, I made it for the people going through it now.

FOR RECRUITMENT COUNCILS
Good for councils, too
Students use Recru day to day. Behind the scenes, your recruitment council, Panhellenic (sorority) or IFC (fraternity), gets the tools to run the whole thing.
Every student rushing, in one place
Everyone going through recruitment at your school (PNMs, short for "potential new member") in one verified roster, searchable and organized instead of scattered spreadsheets and sign-up sheets.
Keep chapter profiles accurate
Council admins manage how every chapter is represented: descriptions, current open-bidding status, the details students actually look for, so what they see stays consistent and accurate.
Reach every student directly
Push schedule changes, reminders, and announcements straight to every recruit and chapter account. No more hoping a GroupMe gets read.
Verified, school-only access
Every account is verified against a real .edu email, so your roster and chapter directory are made up of real students at your school.
Bring Recru to your council
New to all this? Quick lesson
Greek Life 101
Recruitment comes with its own vocabulary. Here's a quick rundown of the terms you'll see around Recru, whether you're a PNM, a parent trying to keep up, or just curious what any of this means.
Recruitment
The process of meeting chapters and, hopefully, getting invited to join one. Some people still call it "rush" โ€” same thing.
PNM
Potential New Member โ€” the official term for a student going through sorority recruitment, before they've joined a chapter.
Panhellenic
The council that runs sorority recruitment at a school. If you're rushing a sorority, this is your council.
IFC
Interfraternity Council โ€” runs fraternity recruitment at a school. The fraternity equivalent of Panhellenic.
Bid
An official invitation from a chapter to join. Getting a bid means a chapter wants you as a member.
Bid Day
The day chapters officially hand out bids โ€” the big reveal at the end of formal recruitment.
COB
Continuous Open Bidding โ€” a more casual, year-round way to join a chapter outside the main recruitment season.
What this costs
